Sara Pizzurro

Role: Postdoc researcher

Sara holds the position of Research Associate at the Laser Source Laboratory, University of Pavia. She defended her PhD Thesis “Innovative Technique for Generation of Femtosecond High Energy Pulses in Fiber Lasers” in April 2024 with the evaluation of excellent. She graduated with honours in Electronic Engineering (curriculum Photonics) at the University of Pavia in 2020. She was part of the team that realized the first prototype of Mamyshev oscillator in Italy, and demonstrated for the first time the possibility to trigger the mode-locking oscillation thorugh the four-wave-mixing non-linear process with a PQS microchip external seeder. During her PhD, Sara has been also a visiting  researcher at the Institute of Photonic Science (ICFO@Casteldefels-Barcelona) where she conducted Optical Parametric Generation experiments in PPLN crystals employing the Mamyshev oscillator as the pump source.
